Poor dental hygiene is often a major factor for the cause of bad breath or Halitosis. Yes, you’ve heard it before, brush and floss after every meal and make regular trips to your dentist for cleaning and exams.

But, how many of us actually follow this strict regimen. Not enough, according to the American Dental Association (ADA). They report that periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in the United States.

Periodontal disease actually takes place in two different stages. Gingivitis is the first stage and only affects the gums. Gingivitis IS reversible if caught before it moves into the second stage called periodontitis. Periodontal disease is irreversible, causing tooth loss and potential permanent bone damage.

Many of the same causes of bad breath apply to the risk factors for periodontal disease such as tobacco and certain drugs. But there are other factors for periodontal disease which can also manifest as bad breath.

Some of these additional risk factors are:
- Ill fitting dentures or bridges
- Teeth that are crooked
- Old fillings that no longer fit their cavity
- Pregnancy

The symptoms of encroaching periodontal disease also closely mimic some of the same symptoms of bad breath, with bad breath actually becoming symptomatic with periodontal disease.

Some of these are:
- Bleeding gums
- Teeth that are loose
- Gums that are swollen and tender
- Changes in the bite
- Gums that are receding away from the teeth
- Changes in prosthetic dentures

Periodontal disease is nothing more than plaque. While it may sound harmless, quite the opposite is true. The buildup of this plaque also causes bad breath. Get rid of the plaque and you will eliminate the bad breath and get the benefits of healthy gums.

Plaque is the carrier for the sulfur producing bacteria that are in your mouth. It creates a sticky film that is always present in your mouth. When you eat and drink you add to the buildup of plaque.

Plaque is a pesky creature that is also a bit shy. He likes to burrow in and hide just beneath the gum line where he develops a breeding ground for more of his bacterial friends. You can smell them, but it can be difficult to even know that plaque is hiding away and doing its damage.

This is why regular brushing and flossing is so important. You need to ferret out the problem and deal with it. It’s an ongoing process and you’ll NEVER be rid of it as long as you like to eat, drink and oh yes, live! You must brush at least twice a day to remove all traces of bits of food and plaque. Don’t forget to brush the gums as well!

Yes, you should brush after every meal, but if it isn’t possible and you don’t wish to brush after having a meal out at a restaurant, excuse yourself, visit the restroom and at least rinse your mouth well. This practice will go a long way toward healthy gums as well as reducing bad breath resulting from the bacteria remaining in the small bits of food.

You must floss every day taking care to reach every hidden scrap between the teeth.

Brush your tongue daily. Ugh! A nasty tongue has to be one of the worse offenders for bad breath. Did you know that the ancient Romans brushed their tongues daily? Amazing, isn’t it, how some practices come full circle.

Using your soft bristled brush, brush the tongue gently, taking care not to gag yourself. Do try and reach as far back as comfortable to remove as much of the offending buildup as you can. It’s in that region toward the back of the tongue that produces the majority of the bad breath.

By following good dental practices you can virtually eliminate all bad breath and prevent much more serious problems in the future. If you haven’t had been very good about brushing in the past you should know that it is never too late to start and minimize your risk starting from today.

Fortunately for sleep apnea sufferers there are solutions. In fact, there are more sleep apnea devices available now than ever before. In this article, we’re going to explore some of these devices, how they work, and the benefits they provide.

Sleep apnea is defined as “a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep.” These interruptions of sleep are referred to as apneas. They generally span a period of ten seconds or more and can take place any number of times throughout the course of a night. Those who suffer from this condition often wake throughout the night as a result of their struggles to catch their breath. Often, they will have no recollection of these events.

The CPAP Machine

The most common of the sleep apnea devices is the CPAP machine. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a form of therapy that creates a steady stream of air flow into the lungs in order to make it possible for “uninterrupted breathing and unobstructed airways during sleep.”

This is accomplished with the use of a CPAP machine and a mask worn over the face. The CPAP machine pumps a consistent flow of air into the mask, which keeps your throat open throughout the night. The result is a reduction of snoring, which is often one of the most common signs of this condition.

A CPAP sleep apnea device should be used whenever you sleep, even for naps. And while a CPAP device will generally reduce the number of apneas throughout the night, it does not cure this condition. It simply allows for a better night’s sleep, with more REM sleep. The lack of REM sleep can be one of this condition’s most destructive results.

Some people have difficulty with CPAP devices. They find them too noisy or too uncomfortable, or in some cases they wake up with a dry, stuffy nose every morning (there are sleep apnea devices equipped with a heated humidifier that can minimize this last problem).

The Oral Appliance

The next of the most common device for this condition is the oral appliance. Originally, oral appliances were designed to decrease the incidence of snoring and they did an excellent job. However, with improvements in their design they’ve also become helpful for those who suffer from mild to moderate forms of sleep apnea.

There are a variety of oral devices available. Two of the most popular include the splint and the mandibular advancement device (MAD). The splint keeps the tongue in a particular position throughout the night. By so doing, it allows the air passage to remain open and clear.

The mandibular advancement device (MAD) looks similar to the sports mouth guards that athletes wear for protection. This apparatus forces the lower jaw in a backward direction, which allows for plenty of room for air flow. This encourages you to sleep on your back. It also improves the flow of air into and out of the lungs (although this is less the case for those who suffer from severe forms of this condition).

The oral appliance and the CPAP machine are two of the most common sleep apnea devices. They are also two of the most effective devices. If you’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea, ask your doctor about the best treatments for you in your particular situation.

More often than not, the result of anger is not pleasant. Hurtful words can affect the person you are angry at and you can even have emotional pain. Intense feelings of anger are worse since some people can react in violent and destructive ways towards other people and property. Most people, when violently angry, tend to destroy things around them. Hence, it is helpful to know how to manage your anger, understand how and why it is triggered and follow processes that can help you control it.

First of all, you have to understand your anger. There are several ways to do it; one is to take anger management classes. Another way is to undergo one-on-one counseling with either a peer or a professional who understands the dynamics of anger management. The professional can also guide you through the steps of understanding what it is that makes you angry and the reason behind it.

A third method, in understanding your anger is to keep a diary or what can be called an “Anger Journal”. This journal can contain your personal thoughts about the episodes of anger that you experience, the circumstances surrounding it and the reasons behind it.

For the journal exercise, write down 5 to 10 things that cause you to become angry. These things can be small annoyances that tend to build up over time, especially if not kept in check, and volcanic size annoyances.

A small annoyance, for instance, can be someone leaving the bread wrapper open or against a person who cuts in line at a concert ticket booth. Samples of volcanic size annoyances may be one that is against a person who just cannot stop bullying you or against a person who rear-ended your car last month. Bear in mind, however, that something volcanic for you may not be as volcanic to others.

Your journal then is about your personal annoyances and the things that you perceive are annoying. Writing them down can help you identify what truly triggers your anger. It is important since identifying triggers is the first step to understanding why and how your anger mechanism is triggered.

As you are listing down those things, also indicate how intense each circumstance makes you feel, with 1 being the small annoyance to 10 being the biggest annoyance or volcanic annoyance. Also, write down what you did in each of those circumstances. Indicate what you remember saying and doing as you face those triggers. Try to remember to the best of your ability the words that you may have said and the actions that you may have done.

Now that you have taken note of the details during your episode of anger, write down the corresponding results. Write down how you think your words and actions made the other people involved in such circumstance feel. If there were bystanders and witnesses around during that time, write down what you think they also felt.

Moreover, what, if any, were the punishments or reprimands that you received concerning that episode of anger of yours? Do you feel that you deserve such consequence? If the episode was to happen once more, do you think you will react any differently, given the results of your previous angry uproar? Does knowing how you and the others felt about that help you manage your anger in a different way now?

Given all these, a journal exercise can help you understand “the why and the how” of your episodes of anger. Undergoing such exercise can eventually lead to better anger management.

Smoking cessation is an unpleasant experience from whichever side you look at it. You will have to cope with the cravings and all the withdrawal symptoms, you will have to beat up the smoking habit and change your lifestyle completely.

To help you get out of the smoking-swamp we have compiled a short list with tips to help you give up smoking.

Tip #1. Set up a stop date a few weeks in advance. This will give you enough time to prepare yourself for the upcoming changes. Moreover, this will allow you to start some medical treatment.

Tip #2. A simple but an important one throw away all your cigarettes on your stop smoking day. This will not only prevent easy access to cigarettes but also will have a huge psychological impact on you.

Tip #3. Avoid places and situations that would prompt you to lighting up a cigarette. For example if you light up your first cigarette with your morning coffee, replace the coffee with herbal tea; avoid going to pubs or night clubs during your first ex-smoker weeks.

Tip #4. Get stop smoking aids after consulting with your doctor. Nicotine patches or gums may help you a lot in the smoking cessation process and provide great relief from the withdrawal symptoms.

Tip #5. Start saving the money that you used to spend on cigarettes. You will soon discover that you have put aside enough to buy something nice for yourself.

Tip #6. Set up a sport activity plan. Start with long walks, buy a bike and cycle to your work or just for fun, rollerblade, or go swimming. Any physical activity is good and it is up to you to pick up the ones that most suit your personality. Sport will not only help improve your appearance but it will help your body detox and reduce both the cravings and the cessation symptoms.

Top #7. Change your eating habits, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink a lot of liquids. A healthy diet will not only prevent you from gaining weight but also reduce the withdrawal symptoms.

Tip #8. Get support from your family and friends. The first week after you put away the cigarettes you will be nervous and irritable so it is vital that they understand your behavior and help you.

Top #9. Trick your mind - think of reward scheme. For example if I do not smoke for a couple of weeks I will buy … You can promise yourself a big prize if you manage not to smoke for three months - something like a vacation or a trip to an exotic place.

Tip #10. Be very patient and believe that you can do it. Your dedication will help you stop smoking more than any other therapy or medications. Smoking is 70% connected with your mind and only 30% with your body.

Since ancient times, green tea was a highly prized beverage in the Orient. There are even elaborate tea-drinking ceremonies held in the Orient and especially in Japan. At first, it was a seasonal drink and as such, quite expensive. This is because green tea is harvested from the tealeaves and buds that can only be obtained in the spring when the tea bush is putting out new growth.

Now it is becoming immensely popular in the West, and because of increased demand, the tea is now being grown in different parts of the world, like Australia. This means it is available year round, instead of just in one season due to different regions. Because of this, prices have become more reasonable and available to everyone. Now green tea is common and in high demand. You can find it in the grocery stores and even in different flavors to mask the slightly bitter taste that is part of the flavor.

So how can green tea help you?

Of course it is a distinctly refreshing drink, letting you relax and unwind after a hard days work, or as a “pick me up” during the day. However added to this, it also has antitoxins, helps burn calories, and boosts your immune system.

Antitoxins are good for protecting the body against toxins and poisons that can enter the body from the air, water, or food we eat. It will also protect against free radicals, which are made by the liver when metabolism takes place. These free radicals can harm the body and also age your cells.

It is a good beverage to drink when dieting as it has little or no calories and can even act as an appetite suppressant by filling you up. Green tea can also help you to burn calories.

The tea has flavonoids, which act as antitoxins. They also will help your immune system to ward of disease and ailments. Green tea also has catechin polyphenols especially epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful antioxidant. It is also thought to help the body fight cancer and prevent blood clots. Research is still being done to understand more about the benefits of green tea.

So on those hot thirsty days, do not just reach for a soda, try a refreshing glass of iced green tea and really feel the difference. Or, do not even wait for summer and just relax anytime with a cup of green tea. It takes about 3-4 cups per day to get the maximum benefits from green tea.

We are all so full of toxins that our bodies are struggling to get or stay healthy! These toxins not only cause serious diseases, such as cancer, they can also cause us to experience depression or have trouble maintaining a healthy weight - among other things. Unfortunately, we can’t avoid these toxins. They are in the air we breathe, and in the food we eat.

Our bodies produce their own antioxidants, but as we age or become unhealthy, this production slows down. The antioxidants that our bodies naturally produce even have a hard time keeping up with the toxins in the body even in young children! We must provide our bodies with more antioxidants from an outside source.

Your mother was right when she told you to eat your spinach! Science has shown that green vegetables contain the antioxidants that our bodies crave, and the FDA recommends two full servings of greens each and every day. In today’s world, that recommendation is not very realistic.

We tend to eat on the run. Instead of coming home from work to cook a hot healthy meal, which is served on the dining room table, we tend to pick the meal up at the drive thru window on our way home, and we eat it in front of the television. We don’t wash dishes - we throw the cardboard or Styrofoam containers away.

This rushed lifestyle means that we are not only missing out on the recommended two servings of greens each day; it also means that we are lucky if we get one serving in a month - if ever! This doesn’t do much to promote the riddance of toxins. Hence, our society has become riddled with health issues and problems. We are depressed, overweight, and generally unhealthy - not to mention that we are also tired, achy, and generally don’t feel good.

Can you imagine the money that would be saved if therapists recommended that their patients ate two servings of greens each day - and if the patients actually took the time to do that? It would be amazing.

Fortunately, you can get your two servings of greens each day, without eating a single bite of them. This is good news for people who would never put the greens on their plate to begin with, even if they were available! You don’t have to like the greens to get the benefits of them.

Why We Need Zinc

Zinc is an important mineral in our bodies. Not only does it help with healing of wounds, helping with enzyme actions, and all together keeping us going, it also affects sexual performance in men.

Men use the most zinc because it is what their body parts use. When there is little zinc in a man, his sexual performance is lowered. We need zinc for more then just that as well.

Zinc helps us fight off bacteria, and controls something in the prostates of men that would normally cause swelling. Without Zinc men would have severe problems with sexual performance. In a study it was proven that an addition of zinc to a sterile man made him produce more sperm then before.

So zinc is also responsible for reproduction problems. A low amount of Zinc can cause late sexual development and can also cause a greater risk of prostate cancer. Zinc is also in short supply due to the fact that the earth is losing the important nutrients it used to have for plants. That means that when a plant with zinc in it is grown, the zinc level is so low that it is almost not there.

Keeping zinc levels up are not a problem how ever. All that is needed is a change in diet, adding zinc filled foods to it and keeping to it. Zinc is also used to raise the testosterone levels in men which can come in handy for men as they age.

Keeping a balanced level of zinc is important to men not only because it keeps sexual performance from falling, but also because it helps prevent prostate cancer, and raises testosterone levels which are important as men get older.

When a man starts losing testosterone his body starts losing other nutrients as well because they depend on the testosterone. Keeping a good count on your testosterone levels is important.

You will want to know how to treat Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (or MCS), if you have this condition. Obviously, the best way is to reduce or prevent your exposure to known allergens and irritants. This will give your body a chance to heal itself.

However, you would find it an almost impossible task to completely eliminate that many allergens from your life, since we are surrounded by many products with synthetic chemicals in them. This being the case, you can consider various ways to help treat MCS so that you can alleviate the symptoms that you suffer, such as irritated eyes, itchy skin and other bodily reactions.

One such treatment can be found in a sauna. Saunas are used by many cultures for cleansing and detoxification. Saunas are a powerful way to eliminate environmental chemicals that are stored in your fat cells. You would need to get a sauna that uses dry heat and that has not been treated with toxic chemicals.

Do not go hungry, have just eaten or feel weak before going into a sauna. Prior to a sauna, perform between 20 to 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. You will then want to sit in the sauna between 10 to 45 minutes. Additionally, you may want to consume niacin supplements. Of course, you should talk to your doctor about using a sauna detoxification treatment for MCS before you get started.

You can also use contrast showers to treat MCS. Contrast showers will increase micro circulation in your body tissues. They can assist in replacing your damaged and stressed tissues with nutrients, oxygen and immune cells. Your body will also expedite the removal of metabolic waste and other toxic substances, with this detoxification treatment. They also help strengthen your immune system by increasing your white blood cells.

You will need to alternate hot and cold water as you take a contrast shower. Simply have 3 minutes of hot water followed by 1 minute of cold water. You should repeat this at least once, always ending with cold water.

You also need to be watchful over your diet. You would need to drink between 8 and 12 glasses of water each day. If you intend to do sauna cleansing, then you will need to drink more water. Liquid mineral supplements can also help. However, if you have heart or kidney disease, then you should talk to your doctor about taking these supplements.

Skin brushing can also be used to treat MCS. Skin brushing helps to facilitate the cleansing of your skin by stimulating your lymphatic system. As such, toxins will be eliminated through your skin. Skin brushing will also improve your blood circulation and remove the dead skin cells that clog your pores. You will need a long handled natural bristle brush for skin brushing. Purchase this brush at your local health food store. If, you cannot find one of these brushes, you can use a loofah sponge instead.

For skin brushing, begin with the soles of your feet. Apply light pressure while brushing your skin in small circular motion up to your stomach, then from the palms of your hands towards your chest and finally with your scalp. You should not however brush your face, breasts or any other sensitive areas. Skin brush either in the morning or in the evening. It will work really well with a contrast shower.

While you cannot control factors outside your home, you can always make your home MCS safe. Here are some tips:

1. Use area rugs that are made out of natural material and do not have a stain resistant finish.
2. Remove all of the carpeting in your home.
3. Eliminate tobacco smoke.
4. Install an air filter or seal off ductwork.
5. Remove any natural textiles that have chemical finishes on them.
6. Remove or seal off the fireplace in your home.
7. Use an air exchanger to filter the air in your home.
8. Use furniture that is made out of solid wood.
9. Remove any man-made textiles in your home.
10. Use only organic fiber that has no chemicals.

While you are outside your home, these are some exposure areas that you should avoid:
1. New buildings
2. Stores that sell seasonal merchandise
3. Moist or damp areas
4. Clothing that has to be dry clean
5. Stores that sell leather products
6. People who are wearing perfume or cologne

Antitoxins convert free radicals into non-toxic substances. Free radicals are formed when the body goes through the functions of metabolism and oxidation. This prevents cells from being destroyed and will help to slow down the aging process. This will also result in healthier looking skin. Antitoxins can also help your body’s immune system and help you fight against a number of diseases and ailments.

There are several foods that can provide us with antitoxins. Many natural foods high in antitoxins are fish, vegetables, and fruits. Some common fruits include prunes, melons, apples, berries, and plums. Some vegetables are also high in antitoxins; common ones are tomatoes, winter vegetables- like cabbage, broccoli, beets, and spinach. Seafood is also a good source of antitoxins. Oils containing antitoxins include; sunflower, safflower, almond oil, and hazelnut.

Foods that contain these vitamins will also have antitoxins. They are B12, Vitamin A, E, C, B6, folic acid, Selenium, and carotene. By eating a natural diet, you can include many of these vitamins and antitoxins.

It is easy to adjust your diet to a natural one:

1.	Cut out refined and processed food. Foods in packages and tins are convenient, but are often so highly processed that many of the nutrients and antitoxins are lost. Refined foods also include white bread and rice. Try to replace these foods with whole grains and non-processed foods.
2.	Try to increase fruits and vegetables in your diet. Many of these foods have the vitamins and antitoxins, see above.
3.	Include some seafood in your diet. However, it is best not to overdo this, as sometimes there can be some heavy metals like mercury in fish due to contamination of water.
4.	The oils, sunflower, and safflower mentioned above are good replacements for your cooking oil.
5.	The additions of Yogurt and vinegar will also give you antitoxins.

Diet supplements can also give you antitoxins. There is a vast array of these products on the market today. Some come in the form of juices, others in pills and capsules. Some of the best supplements are those with Glyconutrients. These substances not only provide antitoxins, but also help your body’s natural immune system.

There are 8 Glyconutrients:

1.	Xylose
2.	Fucose
3.	Galactose
4.	Mannose
5.	Glucose
6.	N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc)
7.	N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc)
8.	N-acetylneuraminic acid

These 8 vital nutrients play a very important role in the body. They help the body’s cells to communicate with each other. As well as this, they boost the immune system and provide it with antitoxins.

Ambrose is a diet supplement that contains all of the Glyconutrients. There are no real side effects from this diet supplement.

Phytochemicals are biochemical found in plants. They are used as protection against the many elements of nature that can harm them. These are the chemicals that give plants their unique characteristics; texture, smell, flavor, and color. We can get these useful Phytochemicals for our own use by eating seeds, legumes, vegetables, and grains.

Phytochemicals are not considered nutrients, but are still very valuable to us. Much research has been done with Phytochemicals to find out exactly how they can help us. Because there are so many Phytochemicals in the plant kingdom, it has been somewhat difficult to research, due to the fact that there is low concentration of these plants. You can get Phytochemicals by eating vine ripen, fresh fruits and vegetables. Another alternative is taking supplements.

How do Phytochemicals help us? It is thought that they may help us in our fight against cancer, but more research needs to be done to prove this. Research is being done on Phytochemicals; like ellagic acid, indole-3-carbinol, sulphoraphane, and flavonoids that have been found to be cancer-blocking agents.

Cancer suppressing agents inhibit multiplication or growth of cancer cells. B-carotene, curcumin, epigallocatechin-gallate, genistein, resveratrol, gingerol, and capsaicin are all examples of Phytochemicals.

Here are some Phytochemicals that scientists are researching:

*	Isothiocyanates and Indoles: They are found in vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, watercress and cabbage.
*	Isoflavones: This is found in soybeans and legumes.
*	Allyl sulfides can be found in onions and garlic.
*	Polyphenols: are found in Green tea
*	Carotenoids: This is part of a large group and includes B-carotene vitamin A, and can be found in several vegetables including carrots.
*	Lycopene: this is found in Tomatoes and tomato ketchup.
*	Phenols: this can be found in grapes in the form of resveratrol. It is useful for protection against inflammation.
*	Spices also have these useful substances. For example curcumin in turmeric, capsaicin in chili peppers, and gingerol in ginger.

From ancient times herbs and spices have been used to heal, and now due to recent research, we are finding out why certain plants can help us improve our immune system and heal our bodies. As scientists do more research, we will be able to find out exactly how and why Phytochemicals help us and how we can improve our health and well-being with them.

Natural cold remedies have been around for centuries. According to the The Berkley Wellness Newsletter, plants that have not been used at some time in hope of combating the common cold are indeed rare. The Chinese have been treating illnesses with an assortment of herbal remedy concoctions for centuries.

Does anything work? While there is still no proven cure for the common cold, several natural remedies have now been studied and show some promise for reducing the severity of symptoms and shortening the length of your illness.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is the popular water soluble vitamin that is though to help boost the immune system and possibly speed recovery from a cold. The most famous Vitamin C advocate was Linus Pauling, who in late 1960s began recommending 500
to 1,000 mg per hour for several hours at the first sign of cold symptoms. Since that time, Vitamin C and the prevention of colds and reduction of symptoms has been thoroughly investigated. Other than a hint that colds are slightly less severe, the research on supplementation with varying amounts of Vitamin C does not support original claims. Once and for all, there is no overwhelming evidence that Vitamin C can prevent or cure colds as was once widely believed.

Andrographis: From plants grown in India and China, some studies have confirmed that 60 mg per day of andrographis can stimulate the production of infection fighting white blood cells and reduce the severity of cold symptoms.

Garlic: Garlic has been used for thousands of years and is well known for its immune system boosting ability and antiviral properties. There is some evidence that garlic supplementation with allicin offers some level of protection and reduction in the severity of colds. Allicin is a bacteria and fungus fighting compound produced when garlic is crushed or chopped. It is not very stable so degrades quickly when cooked.

Zinc Lozenges: Some studies have shown that zinc glutonate or zinc acetate lozenges can reduce the average duration of cold symptoms by as much as 50%, while others found no benefit. Zinc is an essential mineral found naturally in foods such as oysters, liver, meat, eggs, and whole grains. It is thought that zinc may interfere with reproduction of the cold virus or keeps it from entering cells. The effectiveness of zinc supplementation may be determined by the potential for zinc absorption, or ZIA, and bioavailability. Certain high fiber foods can interfere with the absorption of zinc.

Echinacea: Echinacea was first used by Native Americans for things like insect and snake bites. Today, this herb is a popular remedy for fighting colds and flu symptoms, especially in Germany. So far, the studies on this herb offer mixed results at best, and most clinical researchers remain unconvinced that it works.

Propolis: Propolis is a substance used by bees to construct their hives that help block out bacteria and viruses. It contains amino acids, vitamins, and minerals with antioxidant properties. A small number of studies have found that propolis extract can reduce severity of cold symptoms in humans.

Hydrogen peroxide: Dr. Joseph Mercola, author of Total Health Program, recommends a few drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide in each ear within 12-14 hours of the onset of cold or flu symptoms. This one was introduced in Germany in the 1930s, and while the internet is full of testimonials, I could not find any supporting clinical studies.

One problem associated with using natural remedies may be related to purity. ConsumerLab, an independent company that routinely tests over the counter products not evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, has reported significant variance from the labels in many of these products including echinacea, zinc, and garlic. Natural remedies derived from plants also have the potential to be contaminated.

Remember, antibiotics will not work against a virus. If you decide on a natural remedy, the sooner you start taking it after the onset of symptoms, the more likely it is going to work.
